A personal milestone in my web journey
Today, I finally launched my personal homepage — a long-awaited step in my journey as a creator and developer. It took weeks of designing layouts, writing code, fixing bugs, and learning how deployment pipelines work. There were moments of frustration, but also moments of deep satisfaction. Seeing everything come together on the screen was more fulfilling than I expected.
In today’s digital age, almost every product and service is offered through the web. From e-commerce and streaming platforms to internal tools and dashboards — the web is the universal interface. That’s why I strongly felt the need to understand how the web actually works, not just from the user’s perspective, but from the builder’s side as well.
Through this project, I gained hands-on experience in frontend development — writing HTML, styling with CSS, and experimenting with simple JavaScript interactions. I also learned how to manage hosting, domain connections, and how to use version control properly. Most importantly, I learned how to structure content in a way that's readable, accessible, and meaningful.
This homepage might be simple now, but it marks a starting point. I plan to keep improving it, adding features like blog posts, project showcases, and interactive components as I learn more. I'm proud of this first version, and more excited than ever to keep building on top of it.
개인 홈페이지 오픈, 웹을 직접 배우는 여정의 시작
오늘 드디어 나만의 홈페이지를 세상에 공개했다. 처음 기획한 지 꽤 시간이 지났고, 그동안 레이아웃을 짜고, 코드를 수정하고, 오류를 찾고, 배포 과정을 익히는 데 수많은 시간을 보냈다. 쉽지만은 않은 여정이었지만, 하나씩 완성되어 가는 모습을 보며 스스로도 놀랄 만큼 큰 만족감을 느꼈다.
지금 시대에 대부분의 서비스는 웹을 통해 제공된다. 쇼핑몰, 스트리밍 플랫폼은 물론이고, 회사 내부 시스템이나 데이터 대시보드까지도 웹 기반이다. 그래서 단순한 사용자로서가 아니라, 실제로 만들어보는 사람의 입장에서 웹이 어떻게 작동하는지를 이해하고 싶다는 생각이 점점 더 강해졌다.
이번 프로젝트를 통해 프론트엔드 개발의 기본을 몸으로 익혔다. HTML로 구조를 만들고, CSS로 디자인을 입히고, 간단한 JavaScript 기능도 시도해보면서 ‘웹 페이지’라는 것이 어떤 방식으로 완성되는지 배울 수 있었다. 또, 도메인을 연결하고 호스팅을 설정하는 과정, Git을 통해 버전을 관리하는 방법 등 기술적인 부분에서도 많은 성장이 있었다.
지금의 홈페이지는 아직 단순하지만, 분명 나에게는 큰 출발점이다. 앞으로는 블로그 기능도 넣고, 내가 만든 프로젝트도 소개하고, 좀 더 상호작용이 있는 웹 컴포넌트들도 추가해 나갈 계획이다. 완성도는 아직 멀었지만, 직접 만든 이 첫 번째 버전이 너무 자랑스럽고, 앞으로 더 발전시킬 수 있다는 것이 기대된다.
